This 2-step set (Form D and Form C) is designed to efficiently distribute the cutting load, with both taps cutting to exactly the same nominal finish size. The set features a short and medium-length cut. The Form D tap (medium-length cut, approx. 3–5 threads) is used for the first, guiding thread. The Form C tap (short cut, approx. 1–2 passes) is essential for finishing and tapping close to the bottom of blind holes.
